Prayer Meetings

At Walton Church, we believe that prayer is at the heart of the Christian life and the work of the church. Our prayer meetings are times when we come together as God’s people to seek Him, give thanks, and bring before Him the needs of our church, community, and world. Just as the early church “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42), we too want to be a praying church—depending on the Lord in everything and recognising that without Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5).

Coming along to a prayer meeting is more than a duty—it’s a privilege and a great encouragement. When we pray together, we express our shared faith in God’s power and promises, and we strengthen one another as we bring our requests before Him. The Bible urges us to “pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests” (Ephesians 6:18) and to “present [our] requests to God” (Philippians 4:6), trusting that He hears and answers according to His perfect will. Whether you feel confident praying aloud or prefer to pray quietly, your presence matters. Together, we depend on the Lord who is “able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine” (Ephesians 3:20).

We regularly meet together to pray. We meet on the first Wednesday of the month in the evening (7:30pm) and weekly on a Thursday afternoon (2:00pm).
