Free Bible

Welcome

We’re really glad you’ve taken one of our free Bibles. Whether this is your first time opening one, or whether it’s been a long while, you’re very welcome here. There’s no expectation, no pressure, and no hidden agenda — this Bible is simply our gift to you.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

Why we give Bibles away

We give Bibles away because we believe they help people encounter Jesus — who he is, what he’s like, and why he matters. The Bible tells the story of God’s love for the world and his desire to bring hope, forgiveness, and new life. We believe this message is worth sharing freely.

“For the word of God is alive and active.” (Hebrews 4:12)

If you’re not sure where to start

The Bible is a collection of books, written over many centuries, and it can feel overwhelming at first. That’s completely normal. Many people find it helpful to begin with one of the accounts of Jesus’ life:

John — written to help readers know who Jesus is
Mark — short, clear, and fast-paced
Psalms — honest prayers and reflections for every season of life

You don’t need to read it all at once. Even a few verses at a time is a good place to begin.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105)

Reading with questions is welcome

You don’t have to understand everything you read straight away. It’s fine to have questions, doubts, or parts that don’t yet make sense. Many people discover that the Bible speaks most clearly over time, as they keep reading and reflecting.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find.” (Matthew 7:7)

What Christians believe this book is about

At its heart, the Bible points to Jesus — his life, his death, and his resurrection. Christians believe that through Jesus, God offers forgiveness, peace with himself, and the promise of new life. This is not about being “good enough”, but about grace — a gift that can’t be earned.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:8)

A warm invitation

You haven’t signed up to anything by taking a Bible. There’s no expectation that you attend church or get in touch. However, if you ever would like to find out more, ask a question, or visit Walton Evangelical Church, you would be very welcome. Our Christianity Explored course might be just what you’re looking for as an opportunity to find out more in a relaxed friendly environment.

“Taste and see that the Lord is good.” (Psalm 34:8)
