Accessibility at Walton Evangelical Church
At Walton Evangelical Church, we want everyone to feel welcome, comfortable, and able to take part fully in church life. Because every person matters to God, we are committed to making our gatherings as accessible and inclusive as possible. Our welcome team is always on hand if you need directions, assistance with seating, or support during the service. We want you to feel relaxed, cared for, and free to enjoy your time with us. If you have any questions or specific needs, please don’t hesitate to get in touch — we’re always happy to help. We look forward to welcoming you!
Step-Free and Disabled Access
Our building provides step-free access, making it easier for wheelchair users, those with limited mobility, and families with prams to move around safely. Key areas of the church, including the main hall and toilets, are fully accessible.
Guide Dogs Welcome
We gladly welcome guide dogs and assistance dogs. If your dog needs space or water, simply let one of our stewards know and they will be pleased to assist.
Support for Those Who Are Hard of Hearing
To help everyone hear clearly and engage with the service, we have a fully functioning hearing aid loop installed in the main meeting area. If you use a hearing aid, simply switch to the ‘T’ setting when you arrive.
Help for the Visually Impaired
We know that following songs and readings can be challenging for those with visual impairment. Song words and service content are available on tablets or personal devices, allowing you to zoom and adjust as needed. If you would benefit from this, please speak to the welcome team when you arrive.
Support for people with Learning Difficulties
We offer a warm welcome and support those with learning difficulties, and our team is always happy to provide extra help, clear explanations, or a quieter space if needed. Our monthly ‘The Way’ events are especially for people with learning difficulties and their families and carers.
